We at SMASH care about your privacy. This document outlines our privacy and cookie policies and the ways that we use cookies on our site.

We never collect any personally identifying information without your explicit consent. This includes names, email addresses, physical addresses, or ways you personally identify yourself. Understanding our audience

In order to best support our visitors, understand the impact our web presence has on the community, and to communicate that impact to funders or program partners, we use Google Analytics to gather information such as the number of unique visitors to our site, what pages are being viewed, the general geographic location of those viewers, along with some other technical information such as what browsers our visitors are using.

_ga: Registers a unique ID that is used to generate statistical data on how the visitor uses the website.

_gid: Registers a unique ID that is used to generate statistical data on how the visitor uses the website.

_gat: Used by Google Analytics to throttle request rate

NID: The NID cookie contains a unique ID Google uses to remember your preferences and other information, such as your preferred language (e.g. English), how many search results you wish to have shown per page (e.g. 10 or 20), and whether or not you wish to have Google’s SafeSearch filter turned on.

Integrating our site with our opt-in email lists

Mailpoet

We use MailPoet, which helps us manage email newsletters. MailPoet may serve the following cookie to better provide a consistent experience when signing up for our newsletters.

MAILPOET_SESSION: Used for tracking the invisible recapcha option in Mailpoet

Constant Contact

We use the Mailmunch Constant Contact plugin, which helps us subscribe visitors to our email mailing lists. We do not collect any personally identifiable information for our mailing lists unless you explicitly “opt-in” to subscribe. However, even without a subscription, you may be served cookies from Mailmunch to ensure consistent interaction with their software.

_mailmunch_seen_month: Used for tracking by the Mailmunch mailing list software

_mailmunch_visitor_id: Used to create a unique visitor ID for the Mailmunch mailing list software

Mailmunch_second_pageview: Used for tracking by the Mailmunch mailing list software

btpdb: This cookie is used by MailMunch and BrightTag for cross-site marketing purposes
